Steller’s Eider is iittala’s annual bird for 2006. Designed by Oiva Toikka, this Limited Edition Arctic bird is rendered appropriately in glass form with a clear, icy head and a white body with ice-pocked air bubbles.....Steller’s Eider is iittala’s annual bird for 2006. Designed by Oiva Toikka, this Limited Edition Arctic bird is rendered appropriately in glass form with a clear, icy head and a white body with ice-pocked air bubbles, laced with a wintry, silver ribbon. Mimicking mirrored, icy waters and silvery plumage, the colors of this bird are striking and elegant. A diving bird, iittala’s Eider has a silvery, broad-billed beak dipped in silver. On the base of the Steller’s Eider is the signature of Oiva Toikka, 2006 and of his studio in Nuutajärvi, Finland.
