Dotterel (or Plover) is quite an interesting bird by Oiva Toikka. An undulating texture of olive and browns make up the body of this bird while a brilliant blue head and a translucent yellow peak rest on top. This retired Toikka bird has been in production since 1996.
The body color of the Dotterel has varied throughout production. The body color currently being produced is primarily a light brown to olive green as pictured.
All of the Toikka birds are highly collected, individually made, mouth-blown pieces of art. Each bird is handmade at iittalas famous glassworks in Nuutajrvi, Finland and carries a mark ensuring authenticity. These birds are great gifts for bird lovers and those who appreciate mouth-blown glass art.
