Glassblower Oiva Toikka re-creates these dramatic hunting birds with impressive precision and artfulness. Two-toned, the blue body and head of the bird are contrasted against a bright orange stomach which gives the bird a tropical feel. Its petite head impressively holds an oversized silvery-blue beak which it uses in nature to dive into warm waters to catch fish. Slightly smaller in size, this bird refuses to blend into the corner as its tropical tones and intriguing features will have your guests piqued and inquiring. A special limited edition bird, a mere 750 Kingfishers were created so collect yours before it’s too late.

The 2010 collection of birds by Oiva Toikka are individually mouth-blown by the master glassblowers at iittala’s glassworks shop. Each handcrafted iittala Toikka Kingfisher carries the signature “O. Toikka” on its base to ensure its authenticity.
