The state bird of California, the quail's social personality and unique plumage have been captured in this lovely glass creation. Often recognized for its unusual feathers, the California quail has a large crested plume which stands squarely in the middle of it crown. Besides the impressive crest, its inky black head and brilliant blue body add to the beauty of this bird. Marbled in iridescent blue and silver hues, the bird’s metallic chest gradually fades into a bright cerulean blue. Immediately recognizable as a Oiva Toikka masterpiece, the calming California Quail enhances any glass bird collection.
