More about iittala Vigna Contrasti - Water Blue The Contrasti Bird by Giorgio Vigna is a sculptural work of art. A mesmerizing blue glass encases a solid black glass core creating depth, space, and reflecting light to bring out varying shades of blue – almost as if you’re peering into deep water. The intensive effects of the glass are magnified with the use of these two colors creating dimension and space.
Each Vigna Bird is individually handcrafted by master glassblowers at iittala’s renowned glassworks in Nuutajärvi, Finland. The time-intensive process of forming, cutting, and polishing each bird showcases the skill of these craftsmen.
