Unlike other Vigna Birds, the large Circoli is asymmetrical – the shape of the head and body are slightly different. There is a surprising detail that is revealed under the polished black glass: the interior is an interweaving of opaque and transparent glass creating a gentle play of light and color. The tail exposes a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Murano glass craftsmanship – the crystal glass inside looks like ice water. Each Vigna Bird is individually handcrafted by master glassblowers at iittala’s renowned glassworks in Nuutajärvi, Finland. The time-intensive process of forming, cutting, and polishing each bird showcases the skill of these craftsmen.
