More about iittala Toikka Rainbow Bird Exquisite, but not too serious. Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka adds whimsy to his Birds by Toikka collection with Rainbow Bird. This special bird displays a sumptuous lustre tape body topped with a very playful blue head and red beak.
Iittala and Toikka have worked together for over 30 years on the Birds by Toikka collection. The artist adds new birds every year, some realistic depictions of actual birds, some pure fantasy and others a combination of the two. Rainbow Bird carries the artist's name and it's "hometown" on its base: O Toikka Nuutajärvi. The glassworks at Nuutajärvi Finland has been producing mouth blown glass for over 200 years.
