More about iittala Toikka Steller's Eider Egg - 2006 Annual Egg Steller’s Eider Egg is iittala’s annual egg for 2006. It was designed by renowned Finnish artist Oiva Toikka and produced in a limited-edition of only 750. The craftsmanship of this bird’s egg is evident by how the mouth-blown process is revealed in the design, which adds a special uniqueness to each egg. The Steller’s Eider Egg is smooth-textured, the top half white and the bottom half a bright yellow. It is loosely tied at either sides with a festive ribbon that blends both colors together and adds dimension and depth to the egg. As you hold this hefty glass piece in your hand, you will find yourself staring deep into the egg, captivated by the depth and wonders of the life inside. Each edition is numbered (xxx/750) and has the signature of Oiva Toikka and of his studio in Nuutajärvi, Finland.
