The red-tailed hawk was the first of its kind to take residence there and he has intrigued New Yorkers ever since. Now, Oiva Toikka has created a limited edition tribute to the famous hawk. Adored by many, Pale Male was named for his unusually light coloring.
This beautiful mouth-blown bird features an expansive ivory body intricately marbled with a stunning red tail and brilliant metallic beak. Standing approximately 8” tall and 14” long, this nearly life-size statue is an amazing tribute to the bird that has inspired so many. The image just doesn’t do this bird justice; you’ll be astounded by its true beauty and splendor.
Oiva Toikka’s imagination and iittala’s skilled Finnish glassblowers have created magical glass birds for over 30 years. Oiva is inspired by birds found all over the globe, but he makes each creation his own.
